The 2018 Micro Hydras feature the same dimensions as the previously released bronze Micro Hydras, but with a 3.5mm “Goldilocks” bore, which plays nice with both 275 and 550 paracord. These are technically “Hardcore” beads, which fit inside the recess of any “Hardcore Compatible” set, but in all metals except aluminum they play very legit as a stand alone setup.

The appeal of a classy ultra-portable set is hard to deny, and the Micro Hydras fit the bill perfectly. Each set includes four small bronze beads, each one measuring just 12mm in diameter and 6mm in height (see photo with traditional Hydras for size comparison).

Over the past few years, players’ preferences have shifted smaller and lighter.. and AO2 has been here for y’all. Our Micro Hydras, which began as an accessory to larger heavier sets, has become a favourite of many players as a stand alone setup. Last year we introduced the bronze Micro Hydras, a thicker take on the original micros, with a 4mm bore to accommodate 550 paracord.

The bronze Micro Hydras come in a cloth carry bag with extra strings, including two ultra-longs, which are sufficient in length for players who want to do up their set with button/ celtic knots or similar.
